  • After an early morning arrival in Belfast for an evening work event, I headed to The National for brunch and to catch up on some work, and I'm so glad I did. Their Bacon Naan, with chilli fried eggs and tomato chutney was outstanding! All the other dishes I saw coming out from the kitchen also looked dynamite - wish I had been staying in Belfast for longer to try more. Great flat white coffees as well, and the service was top notch - friendly, welcoming and always on hand to keep water topped up or grab you any other drinks. A must visits for brunch or lunch in Belfast - I'll definitely be back!

  • Open till 1am is a Monday night winner. Bar man was all in for those of us who were there, appeared single crewed. Good rather than outstanding drinks. Plenty of room to sit or stand. Yet makes it a big box with less atmosphere - bit of an airport waiting room… still open later than most other places on a Monday night.

  • Good food and lots of business types for lunch. We like that the price was more affordable and the food didn’t suffer. Breakfast items were much above average.

  • Been here a few times and the food is delicious but service can be quite slow at times. I ordered an iced latte which never arrived, after 20 minutes, I gave up and left to get a coffee elsewhere. Staff are lovely, food is divine but service could be a bit better!

  • Very beautiful, and a nice smell when you enter. The food was great and the place was also spacious and pretty. Clean well signaled bathrooms and nice atmosphere in general, very pleasant experience. The badger in the ceiling gave me a bit of a spook though!

  • My sister and I popped into 'The National' for a late breakfast before heading to Belfast Castle. We very much enjoyed our refreshing strawberry lemonades and the bunch baps we had were delicious. The server we had was friendly and efficient and they didn't mind when we wanted to move to the Garden as it was such a sunny day. The inside is decorated well, but the garden was lovely to sit in and enjoy our food. I would definitely come back as I very much enjoyed my time there. Might pop in later for a drink to see what it's like in the evening.

  • I really can’t say enough great things about this place! If I could give it 100 stars I would! It’s not often I find a place that is 10/10! The food is hands down amazing! The brisket hash is out of this world!!!! National Bennie is sooooo good! I highly recommend this place!!! Food is top notch, clean, wait staff is so friendly, nice and knowledgeable! Very cool environment with the natural light and exposed brick!!!

  • Had a bacon naan and potato bread fries, both were great. We were one of the first in so the national was fairly quiet and the food took a little longer than we felt it should have but was worth the wait
